Description

A finishing system for a Scandinavian light appearance from softwood surfaces. Soaping a floor is a credible long-term solution and can be described as keeping the wood to as close to a carpet as possible. In very low wear rooms clean just by vacuuming. In high wear areas regular cleaning with a weaker soap solution is required to maintain the appearance.

Wood Lye is a universal product. Being mildly caustic product amongst our ranges the colour impact is fairly low impact on softwoods and keeps the floor more in line with its sanded look than other lye products.

The alternative to DC010 is DC004 which includes Faxe White Soap for finishing. In our view the Faxe soap has a higher solid content and is preferable for finishing a floor. Woca though is thought better for ongoing cleaning.

Lye and soap finishing of hardwoods is not recommended due to potential tannin reactions and weak protection.

Process Summary - During stage 1 you will first saturate the floor with an application of Wood Lye. This is followed soon after by a damp clean with Wood Cleaner to remove residue of the Lye. The wood needs to dry for at least 1 to 2 hours. In stage 2 you apply Woca soap in a 50/50 dilution with water and buff-in the bulk of the protective oil resins as well as more white pigments into the surface. Stage 3 is a repetition of the soaping process, but with a weaker dilution 25/75. Subsequent cleaning is made using a solution of Natural Soap, White 1/40. The white pigments in the soap will further build the whiteness of the floor at the same time as the soap cleans. Regular cleaning with soap should be enough to maintain the floor.

Delivery & Returns

For orders placed before 2pm weekdays the APC delivery should be during the next working day. The exception being more remote parts of the UK as well as the islands in which case delivery will be 2 to 4 days. Orders placed after 2pm should be thought of as coming next working day + 1.

Returns of unopened product need to be arranged directly with our office. It is expected that the canisters will be undamaged as well as unopened. The original packaging box must be used and any empty space filled with an appropriate padding. Dane Care will arrange the collection and the cost of this (normally about £15 plus vat) will be deducted from the refund.
